‘Counting On’ Prison System Destabilizes Josh Duggar

‘Counting On’s Josh Duggar continues to be transferred between prisons, most recently landing at a federal facility in Oklahoma. His lawyer describes these frequent moves as “punitive.” After a short time at FMC Fort Worth in Texas, Josh was sent to FTC Oklahoma City. Before that, he was at FCI Seagoville, also in Texas, where he had been held since his 2021 conviction for receiving and possessing child sexual abuse material.

Josh’s attorney, Beau Brindley, told TMZ that the transfers are in response to alleged rule violations by Seagoville correctional officers, who reportedly opened Josh’s legal mail. Brindley said that after Josh raised these concerns in court, Seagoville staff informed him he would be transferred. It is also claimed that officers at Seagoville deleted Josh’s list of approved contacts, preventing him from calling those individuals.

The prison system’s frequent moving of inmates destabilizes inmates and isolates them from outside sources that enable their behavior.

Josh Duggar has been transferred to a third prison in just weeks. He is currently at FTC Oklahoma City. The facility is a transfer station. He won’t be there for long. There are none left in the local area, as Josh has already been moved out of 3 sex offender prisons in a matter of weeks.

Brother Joseph Duggar still awaiting trial 

FTC Oklahoma City is a temporary holdover facility, so Josh is likely to be moved again to a permanent federal prison. The former ’19 Kids and Counting’ star was sentenced to 12.5 years in federal prison and has already been transferred several times. The Bureau of Prisons told TMZ that they do not discuss the reasons for inmate transfers due to security concerns.

Josh’s brother Joseph Duggar is currently in Arkansas waiting for his Florida trial to start on charges of alleged molestation of a minor.
