‘Bold & Beautiful’ Brad Bell Promises ‘I’m Going To Kill More People’

Bold and Beautiful head writer Brad Bell recently spoke out about all the deaths that have happened on the soap this year. It all began when Sheila was supposedly killed by Steffy. However, she wasn’t really dead, instead it was Sugar. Most recently, Tom and Hollis were killed off by Luna which shocked everyone. Now, Bell says that may not be all. Who else could die? Bold And Beautiful Writer Brad Bell Talks Killing Off Characters

Deadline caught up with Bold and Beautiful writer Brad Bell to discuss all the killings on the soap. This included why the show chose to kill off villain Sheila Carter and then bring her back.

Bell didn’t exactly reveal whether or not the plan all along was to bring Sheila back or if fan outcry pushed the decision but he did share some information. He said that villains all need a cooling-off period.

Bell said, “Villains typically need a cooling off period, which just adds to the drama to their return. And Sheila needs to cool her heels once in a while. Sheila has been a ratings dynamo, and that’s why she’s murdered so many people.”

There have already been two other characters killed off this year, Tom and Hollis. Of course, viewers saw Luna being hauled away by police so her future is unknown as well. Is she gone for good or will she be back to wreak more havoc?

He Says More People Will Die

Brad Bell revealed that characters dying on Bold and Beautiful is far from over. In order to keep viewers coming back for more they have to keep the drama alive. What better way to do that than killing off iconic characters?

If saying goodbye to a legacy character, Bell said that the story must be really good. He said, “You’re getting rid of a lot of history. But if the story is that good, it’s important to make that decision.”

Bell hints that there will be more deaths to come. Who could it be? The options are endless and there are so many that could take their final bow.

Death is a must on soaps. Bell himself said, “You have to kill them every once in a while in order to keep your credibility as a writer. And I promise myself every year, I’m going to kill more people.”
