Battle Over, Mama June Wins Custody Of Kaitlyn, Details

There has been a battle for custody of Anna Cardwell’s daughter Kaitlyn who is only 11 since her mom passed away from cancer late last year. Anna’s mother, Mama June Shannon, was awarded temporary emergency custody. However, Kaitlyn’s biological father is unknown and since he is the father of the younger sibling, Michael Cardwell has filed to gain full custody of Kaitlyn as well. He and Anna were divorced at the time of her death. Now, months later, Michael’s fiance, London Smith revealed that he did not win the battle. Keep reading to get the scoop.

Details About The Custody Battle Between Mama June And Michael Cardwell

It has been months of an ongoing legal battle between Mama June Shannon and Michael Cardwell. Kaitlyn even wrote a letter pleading with the courts to not make her live with Michael. Mama June had pleaded with Anna to put a formal custody agreement in place before she passed away but it never happened.

Even after he and Anna divorced, he maintained a relationship with Kaitlyn. He claims he has  “fully and completely undertaken a permanent, equivocal, committed and responsible parental role” where Kaitlyn is concerned.

Now, after months of battling it out, London Smith claims that the courts have reached a decision in the custody battle.

London went to Facebook to share that she and Michael have never kept Kylee from seeing Kaitlyn. She said, “I’ve been talked bad about for not speaking about the allegation being made that me and Michael aren’t allowing Michael’s youngest to see Kaitlyn…everyone that thinks that is dead wrong.” Kylee is her little sister and earlier this summer Alana Thompson made claims this was happening.

Along with revealing that information London also seemingly revealed the outcome of the court case. She went on to say in her post that Michael, whom she is set to marry this month, lost his daughter.

London said, “Our family just went through a life changing event,” London wrote. “My fiancé lost a child he calls his and raised for 11 years. My fiancés mother and father lost a granddaughter that they have loved and made memories with for 11 years.”

She also revealed that Kylee and Kaitlyn do talk and they Facetime each other. So far fans are shocked Mama June has not addressed the custody battle especially if she officially won the case.

It is unknown if the courts awarded Michael any visitation rights. He has been a part of Kaitlyn’s life since she was only eight months old.
