My 600-Lb Life has been keeping fans entertained on TLC for 13 seasons. Now, fans are wondering if they will be seeing Dr. Now help more patients in Season 14 or if the show has reached the end of the line. Has the hit show that premiered in 2012 been canceled by the network? Keep reading for the scoop.

Has My 600-Lb Life Been Canceled?

Dr. Younan Nowzaradan has been in the headlines recently for a few different reasons. There have been false rumors circulating on the internet about his death. He has spoken out, condemning the rumors, saying he is just fine. Plus, he is launching a new show on Lifetime called The 6000-Lb Diaries With Dr. Now.

This new show, according to the show’s website synopsis, features the weight loss doctor who will follow “ten morbidly obese individuals as they fight for a chance to live the life they have always wanted, both for themselves and for their loved ones. Reaching a combined weight of more than 6,000 pounds, and at an extreme breaking point, these individuals are turning to weight loss authority Dr. Now, and his team of specialists, to get life-changing bariatric surgery and acquire the tools they need to deal with emotional eating. Through intimate diary cams and confessionals, each episode highlights one person’s comprehensive experience as they share intimate inner thoughts, emotional and physical struggles, and their ultimate journey to take back their lives.”

With this new show on Lifetime, many wonder what that means for his TLC hit. Parade shared news that TLC neither renewed nor canceled the show. Season 13 aired in early 2025, and since then, there has been no word on whether fans will get a Season 14. It’s possible for Dr. Now to do both shows, but with the introduction of the brand new TLC show Dangerously Obese, it seems like the network could have chosen to go a different route, at least for now. Plus, Dr. Now’s new show is on an entirely different network. So, it remains unclear if My 600-Lb Life will return.

What Is Dangerously Obese?

Dangerously Obese appears to be similar to My 600-Lb Life. The new series features Dr. Charles Procter. He is a familiar face to TLC fans and has been seen on 1000-Lb Sisters and 1000-Lb Best Friends. The show follows a nearly identical format to My 600-Lb Life, but instead of patients seeking help from Dr. Now in Houston, Texas, they consult with Dr. Procter in Atlanta, Georgia.

The show was set to premiere on October 22 on TLC. Have you watched the first episode yet? Have you seen Dr. Now’s new show on Lifetime? Do you think fans have seen the last of Dr. Now being on TLC?
