‘General Hospital’ Nathan West Shocking Twist, Amnesia Masks Real Identity

It’s the moment fans have been waiting for since Ryan Paevey announced his return to General Hospital. His first airdate was Friday, and of course, writers left viewers with a cliffhanger as Lucas, Anna, and Dante stared in disbelief at the car crash victim. The person lying on the gurney, unconscious, looks eerily like Nathan West. Fans are dying to know what will happen next. Paevey has said that he wouldn’t come back for some vanilla storyline. So it’s clear there will be a shocking twist involving his comeback. After clearly hitting his head, he could have amnesia. The question remains: who is he really?

General Hospital: Who Is The Nathan West Lookalike?

General Hospital fans are eager to find out the mystery behind Ryan Paevey’s return to Port Charles. After being off the soap for seven years, he’s back. The big question is, who is he back as? He could very well be back as Nathan West, but there has to be more to the story. Paevey himself has said that his role will be very unpredictable.

He shared with TV Insider, saying, “This go-round is definitely going to be wildly different than the last one was. We’ve got some fun stuff planned. We’re going to stir the pot. I wouldn’t come back for something vanilla. It’s going to be a blast.”

Since he’s an accident victim who just showed up in the ER with head injuries, he could have amnesia. If he wakes up not knowing who he is, he may be led to believe he is Nathan West by Dante, Lucas, and Anna. Who knows, he may even have Nathan’s memories programmed into him like Drew had Jason’s memories in him.

With Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) back in town, having faked her own death, seeing her brother again points fingers at Cesar Faison. He’s supposed to be dead, but he was the master of faking deaths. It’s quite weird that both of his children appear to be alive and well.

Paevey could start living a life as if he were Nathan. However, if he does have amnesia and it goes away, he may realize he’s not Nathan at all. Or, if he is, he is not the same person who was with Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) all those years ago. He might continue to fake the amnesia and play the good guy while scheming to get what he really wants.

Who Is He Really?

He could be Nathan programmed for pure evil. He already said he’s back in a way that’s different from before. He has to be one of the bad guys now. Perhaps he is working with Britt and Professor Dalton (Daniel Goddard) in their mysterious lab project.

There is also speculation that he isn’t Nathan at all, but rather Peter August (Wes Ramsey), who has had plastic surgery to look like the good detective. Peter is more like his dad and always wanted Maxie, too. Or, could he really be a Cassadine back from the dead with plastic surgery to look like one of the good guys?

He may continue to pretend to be the good Nathan West while really scheming to wreak havoc on Port Charles. Did he return to chase after his sister, who left the Five Poppies with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton)?

It sounds like fans are in for a real mystery and lots of twists and turns as it’s revealed who he really is and why he’s back.
