‘General Hospital’ Drew’s Kai Obsession Reveals Long-Lost Son?

General Hospital fans have seen Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup) continue to become closer to Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison). For reasons unbeknownst to everyone at the moment, Drew has become obsessed with Kai. He even paid for his very expensive surgery in hopes that Kai would be able to play football again. When things didn’t go as planned and the surgery didn’t provide Kai with enough healing to play again, Drew still didn’t want to give up on him. Is there a reason behind this? Spoilers indicate there could be a potential shocker on the way.

General Hospital Drew Continues Kai Obsession

Everyone can agree that unless Kai gets a more interesting storyline than just being Trina Robinson’s (Tabyana Ali) boyfriend, he won’t last long on the show. In fact, many General Hospital fans have already voiced that they fast forward through these Kai/Trina scenes. What could make Kai a more interesting character that would give him a good reason to stick around Port Charles?

Spoilers indicate that there could be a deeper reason behind the fascination Drew and Kai feel toward one another. There has to be another reason than just trying to be kind that Drew wants to keep Kai around and in his life.

Kai’s family has never really been revealed on the show. So, what if he grew up without a father, and his mother was perhaps a fellow service member he hooked up with? The timelines of when Drew was in the military and Kai’s age don’t exactly match up, but it’s a soap opera, so anything is possible.

Once Drew and Kai start talking, little pieces of information may come up that at first seem coincidental. However, it may turn out to be so much more. Could Kai really be Drew Cain’s long-lost son?

Not Likely But Very Possible

While it’s not likely General Hospital writers will create even more chaos for Drew, it would be quite interesting. Kai’s world would blow up. This includes his relationship with Trina and her family. Portia has enough problems without her daughter dating her enemy’s son.

However, creating this connection between Kai and Drew would ensure that Kai’s storyline continues. Perhaps he would become more manipulative and dark like his father. Kai doesn’t seem like he wants to disappoint Drew in any way.

There are lots of possibilities writers could choose to work with. Chances are, this won’t happen, but if it does, it will most certainly bring more drama to Port Charles. Would it be good for Drew and his political career, or damage it?

This could create a whole new level of messy for Drew Cain. And, messy for Drew is always a good thing for viewers.
