1000-Lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton has impressed many fans due to her incredible transformation. In an Instagram post, Tammy Slaton’s sister shared a clip of herself as she reunites with her latest grandchild. The 1000-Lb Sisters star, Amanda Halterman, wrote, “@leonardemoore so thankful to have grandson back in my arms and to put eyes on his mommy and my oldest son.” According to Amanda, her grandson finally made it home for Thanksgiving. Amanda kisses the child on his forehead before smiling at the cameras.

But what’s noticeable is how slim Amanda looks. It’s no secret that Amanda has been dealing with a heart issue for months now. She initially struggled to get herself diagnosed, as multiple doctors weren’t able to determine what her condition was until last September. She learned that she has POTS, which stands for postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome.

One of its symptoms involves an abnormal increase in the patient’s heart rate, especially when standing or sitting up. This could explain why Amanda has been running out of breath. In one of her TikTok lives, Amanda said, “There are some days where all I can do is sit here and cry and beg God to fix me. Praying for everyone who suffers in silence and is told by drs it’s all in your head. But I will not allow my 44 years of life to be defined by a sickness.”

She was back and forth at the hospital this year. But she hasn’t been confined in recent months, suggesting that she’s recovering well. Some fans took to the comments section to share how happy they are for Amanda.

Amada made a brief appearance in TLC’s latest trailer for 1000-Lb Sisters Season 8. The teaser revolves around Tammy and Amy’s fallout. They’re still not on good terms after Season 7, as Tammy expresses her disappointment when Amy shares her desire to marry Brian in a haunted house.

The show is known for being months behind the present time, and it’s obvious that Amanda has lost much more weight today. The upcoming season will feature Amy and Brian’s much-awaited wedding. It’s unclear if Amanda will open up about her health issues in the upcoming season, which airs on January 6, 2026, on TLC.
